Hi Soundscaper,
What we have for you today is one of our library episodes. The original idea was to create the prog equivalent of a poetry omnibus. You know, one of those big compendiums that catches all of the famous poetry and it eventually sits on your coffee table. There is actually quite a lot of prog that uses famous poetry but not every band can do it justice. What I hope I have achieved here is a fair mix of some of the best moments between poetry and prog. You will at least here from the most famous poets like Byron, Shelley, Keats, Yeats, Wordsworth and many others. Personally, I found it to be a very enjoyable journey. I hope you will too.
We also returned with our normal format of giving you new music, as well as a perfect album side that will take you backwards down the number line. All in all a fine show to listen to as you run throught your busy week.
The next Sunday show is scheduled for Mother's Day. That said, I am not sure that we will be here. If not we will put some archival show up. We have had a request for the Arthur C Clarke show for a bit as well as the Ray Bradbury show. One of these will makes its way into the mix very soon. Here are some other upcoming themes: Prog Metal from the last decade, Perfect album side show, Scottish Prog, Civil War, Best Lyrics, Socialism (or potentially styles of government), Jules Verne, and Shakespeare. So there is no lack of creative ideas flowing from the dripping pen.
Send your perfect album sides to soundscape@progrock.com
